A MESSAGE FROM DON:
"
I have been fortunate enough to have published and received positive reviews for writing books about subjects in which I am naturally interested. Thankfully, enough readers share these interests that publishers keep allowing me to do so. My works, both fiction and non-fiction, are on a wide variety of topics including World War II and nuclear submarines, military history, college football, NASCAR, broadcasting, and more. In addition to reading, walking, and blogging, I am also very active in the hobby of amateur radio (my ham radio website is here) and enjoy writing articles for newcomers to this wonderful avocation. Another topic of interest is rapid technological change and its effect on media and society. I maintain a blog on that subject that can be found HERE.
Please scroll down to see information on my latest release and what I am working on now. Or click on any of the book covers to read a synopsis, an excerpt, reviews, or to purchase a copy. Thanks for visiting!"
Events where I will be appearing are HERE. Listen to interviews and see other media HERE. See my bio HERE.
LATEST RELEASES
My latest release is another remarkable, true World War II submarine story, a tale of average men placed in extreme circumstances, and how they respond. Some demonstrate amazing courage. Others do not. It took sixty years for this story to finally be told, as well as for a trio of heroes--including Captain Charles Rush who was awarded the Navy Cross--to finally receive recognition for what they did one night in the Makassar Strait off Borneo during a vicious depth-charge attack.
The title is: WAR BENEATH THE WAVES: A True Story of Courage and Leadership Aboard a World War II Submarine. It is now available. Click on the book cover to see more or order a copy, or go to EVENTS to see where I will be signing copies of the new book.
Watch a TV interview with one of the heroes of the book HERE.
"I don't see how you could have told our story any better without being there. Fantastic! Thank you!"
--Captain (Ret.) Charles Rush
"Dealing equally with the hardware and the interpersonal dynamics of WWII submarining, Keith will inform and please both the rank newcomer to the subject and the well-read expert on it. Invaluable for the WWII submarine annals."
--Booklist
“A never before told story of courage and integrity under fire. Action packed and told in Don Keith’s easy reading style, this is both a highly entertaining submarine tale and a deeply soul-searching study of men under the ultimate stress of war.”
--George Wallace, Commander USN (Ret.), co-author, the national bestseller FINAL BEARING
"A story of extraordinary courage and valor...Keith has done yeoman's work setting the stage and detailing (the) story."
-- Florida Times-Union
"...a real page turner...a fantastic job of relating the story...this book is among the best. I give it a solid, unqualified thumbs-up!"
-- War on Terror News
I have recently released two books, co-written with Edie Hand under my "Jeffery Addison" pseudonym. These inspirational novellas immediately went to a second printing and follow in the footsteps of Edie's and my THE LAST CHRISTMAS RIDE, which came out in 2008. Click HERE to learn more about these books.
Thank you to all for your continued support and comments. Writing is necessarily a lonely undertaking and it is always good to hear that something I have committed to paper affects someone on some level...positively or negatively. I am always glad to hear from you.
